These terms govern your use of the Beauté Lia Hair online store and any order you place through it. Please read them before you buy — by placing an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the store.

1. About these terms

This store is operated by Beaute Lia Hair, trading as Beauté Lia Hair, of 56 Supreme Crt, Halifax, Nova Scotia B3M 0E6, Canada. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that business, and “you” means the person using the store or placing an order.

These terms, together with our Privacy & Cookie Policy and any terms shown at checkout, form the whole agreement between us for your purchase. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

2. Who can order

You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory (19 in Nova Scotia) and legally able to enter into a contract. Orders are placed online and collected in person at our Halifax store. We may decline any order we are unable to fulfil.

3. Your account

You can shop as a guest or create an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

You may also sign in using a third-party account such as Google. Doing so is subject to that provider’s own terms, and you are responsible for the security of that account. We may suspend or close an account that is used to breach these terms, to commit fraud, or to abuse our staff.

4. Products

We describe every product as accurately as we can, and photograph it as faithfully as we can. Even so, colours, finishes, and packaging can vary slightly between screens and between production batches, and manufacturers occasionally reformulate or restyle their packaging without notice. A small variation of this kind is not a defect.

Our products are cosmetics, not medicines. Nothing on this store is medical advice, and no product is offered as a treatment for any medical condition. Always read the label and patch-test a new product before full use. If you have a scalp condition, a known allergy, or are pregnant or nursing, speak to a healthcare professional first.

All products are subject to availability. We may change or discontinue a product, or limit the quantity available to any one customer, at any time.

5. Prices and tax

All prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD). Prices exclude sales tax unless stated otherwise; the applicable GST or HST is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay. Our GST/HST number, 762031235RT0001, appears on your invoice.

We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a typographical or system error, we are not obliged to supply it at that price: we will contact you, and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

6. Orders

When you place an order we send an order acknowledgement by email. That acknowledgement confirms we received your order — it is not acceptance of it. The contract between us is formed only when we email you to confirm your order is ready to collect.

We may decline an order, in whole or in part, if the product is out of stock, if we cannot authorise your payment, if we suspect fraud, if there was a pricing or description error, or if you do not meet the requirements in section 2. If we decline an order you have already paid for, we refund you in full.

7. Payment

Payment is taken at the time of the order. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we accept the card types shown at checkout. Your card details are entered into a field hosted by Stripe and are never stored on our servers — see section 4 of our Privacy & Cookie Policy.

By submitting an order you confirm that the payment method is yours or that you have the owner’s permission to use it. Your bank may place a temporary authorisation hold on your account; this is normal and clears in a few business days. Title to the products passes to you when we have received payment in full.

8. Pickup

• Shipping will be available soon. Every order is collected in person at C8 56 Supreme Crt, Halifax, Nova Scotia B3M 0E6, and pickup is free.
• Orders are usually ready within 1–2 business days. We email you when your order is ready — please wait for that email before coming in.
• Risk of loss or damage passes to you when you collect your order.
• We hold ready orders for 14 days. Contact us if you need us to keep an order aside for longer.
• If a parcel arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days with photographs and we will put it right.

9. Returns and refunds

We want you to love what you ordered. You may return most products within 30 days of collection.

What we can accept

• Products that are unopened, unused, and in their original sealed packaging, with any seal intact.
• Any product that arrives damaged, faulty, or is not what you ordered — at our cost, and regardless of the condition of the seal.

What we cannot accept

For health and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept the return of opened or used beauty products, or any product where a hygiene seal has been broken, unless the product is faulty. Gift cards and clearance items marked final sale are also non-returnable.

How to return something

Contact us through our contact form with your order number before bringing anything back, and we will confirm the details. Returns are handled in person at the store during opening hours.

Once we receive and inspect the return we refund the price you paid to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. How quickly the refund appears on your statement is up to your bank.

Cancelling before dispatch. Contact us as soon as possible and, if the order has not yet been packed, we will cancel it and refund you in full.

Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Nova Scotia Consumer Protection Act, the Sale of Goods Act, or any other consumer protection law that applies to you.

10. Promotions and discount codes

Discount codes and promotions are valid only for the period stated, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be combined with another offer unless we say so. One code applies per order. We may withdraw a promotion at any time, and may cancel an order placed with a code that has been obtained or used improperly.

11. Reviews and anything you post

If you submit a product review, photograph, or comment, you keep ownership of it but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and display it in connection with the store and our marketing. You confirm the content is your own, is accurate, and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

We may edit or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or off-topic. We are not obliged to publish anything you submit.

12. Intellectual property

The Beauté Lia Hair name and logo, and the text, photography, layout, and design of this store, belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. You may not copy, republish, or use any of it commercially, or use our name or logo, without our written permission. Product names and brand marks belong to their respective owners.

13. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this store to break the law, to place fraudulent or speculative orders, to buy for resale without our written agreement, to scrape or harvest data, to introduce malicious code, or to interfere with the operation or security of the site.

14. Warranties

We provide the store and its content on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the store will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the content is complete and current at every moment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties — except those that cannot be excluded under the consumer protection laws that apply to you, which remain in full effect.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the store or of any product bought through it.

Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which forms part of these terms.

17. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page when you place your order, and changes are not applied retroactively to orders we have already accepted. The date at the top shows when the page was last revised.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You and we agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia. If you are a consumer resident in another province, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection rules of your home province.
